The 13th annual OALA Golf Day took place on Friday, August 14 at the Royal Ontario Golf Club, and it was one to remember. With threatening weather in the morning, the storm missed Royal Ontario Golf Club, and provided us with comfortable temperatures.
We started the day off with a Permacon sponsored barbecue lunch as players signed in before tee time. The fun began as soon as everyone teed off. There were many memorable moments from this year’s Golf Day, like Bryan Belair of Play KSL hitting a hole in one! The course was a tough one, but everyone had a great time playing their round of golf.
The event wrapped up with the Unilock sponsored dinner, a speech from Glenn O’Connor, Luke Kairys, and Dean Armstrong of SMART Watering Systems. There were many prizes donated to the Thames Valley Brick & Tile prize table, and we would like to thank you again for it. Many went home with a prize.
Most importantly, we were able to donate $5,000 cheques to both University of Toronto, and the University of Guelph which will help their Landscape Architecture programs. Thank you to all our volunteers (David Nowicki and Misha Franta), sponsors and everyone who made this day possible.
