Mission                                                          

As our CAD Technologist, you will work within a multi-discipline team to support our Landscape Architecture group on a wide range of projects across the country using the latest versions of CAD and civil design software. You will prepare drawings and undertake quantity calculations and take-off estimates. You could be involved in the preparation of graphic renderings to be used in public consultation. 

You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Bowmanville office. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create base plans and digital drawings related to the planning, design and construction of parks, trails, roads and streetscapes, and buildings in compliance with CAD design standards and guidelines, including client specification manuals 
  • Interpret design sketches, implement redline markups and assist in the collection and interpretation of construction record and/or as-built drawings 
  • Collaborate with and provide support to Landscape Architects and other senior staff 
  • Coordination with transportation, municipal, traffic management and other disciplines throughout project phases  
  • Perform take-offs and calculate quantities 
  • Working with the project team to prepare conceptual designs, presentations, design development and construction documents for a variety of projects 
  • Assist with preparation of presentation materials including 2D and 3D renderings 

  Profile

  • Diploma in Landscape Design or Technician program (BLA or MLA degree will also be considered)  
  • two (2) years of experience in Landscape and/or Engineering Consulting environment 
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint environments 
  • Knowledge with Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop would be considered an asset 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
